PERSONALITY & NOTABLE FEATURESVIRTUES: Kenny's analytical and highly intelligent mind is what got him where he is now. He is hardworking and continiously curious not only about the net post-datakrash but also old legacy tech. His sharpness and quick thinking can make him hard to work with for many but they are traits of his that are appreciated nonetheless. He has a rather philosophical mindset and can be spontaneous and even rather charming when he believes the occassion calls for it. Though Kenneth always prefers taking a backseat, let others put on a grandshow.
VICES: Even within the NUSA, Kenneth Roger was known to be a hardheaded, arrogant know-it-all who would easily get irritated by the incompetence of others. Which of course he would be when his brain works harder than most others. He is argumentative and just can't help challenging his higher ups. Depending on who you talk to, Kenneth would be demeaned traitorous and unloyal even. Then again, perhaps his loyalties just changed.
HOBBIES: When Kenny isn't jacked into the NET, he either spends his time creating weapons, or tinkering on various kinds of unknown legacy tech. Beyond that he has a beautiful classic motorcycle that he cares for as if it was his own child. Kenny doesn't laze around a lot, he gets onedge when he gets nothing to do. Yet every friday night he at least makes time to have a drink with the Colonel and just be his company.

BODY: Lean and deemed as rather 'scrawny', Kenny does not have the body of a combatant and unlike the soldiers of BARGHEST hasn't gotten any of the physical training for it either. He always has bags under his eyes.
CYBERWARE: Kenny has practically all the cyberware that is required for a Netrunner of his stature, but he does have some interesting parts. The jack port that is attached to his head and neck is unique and one of a kind. An old prototype that was created to be able to withstand a ridiculous amount of data and power. It allows him to not only easily get through ICE but also connect himself to strong super computers. Prototype tech like this though comes with a price and it played a big part in the decline of Kenneth's health over the years - Kenny's cyberdeck is an interesting one, he has a Canto Mk.5 a deck that isn't even available on the market.
TATTOOS: Kenny has several tattoos adorning his body that he gathered over the years. The most noteable ones in the BARGHEST logo on his ribs, his unit number on his tight and the K.H hidden on his bicep.
SCAR: What stands out is the big scar on his pec that he gained during the unification war caused by a bullet through the chest that almost decommissioned him.
PERSONAL HISTORY
2036-2054: EARLY LIFE
It is 2036 when the Roger family welcomes their designer baby Kenneth into the world. Being chosen from a cluster of cells and being the son of a senator and an actress meant that Kenneth had both the world at his feet and the weight of it on his shoulders.

One could say that the senator cried tears of joy when it became pretty clear early on that his one and only son showed every sign of being an intellectual genius. And our dear senator, who wanted a human weapon instead of an actual child jumped on the occassion to groom his son into the perfect civil servant for the NUSA. Kenny is 13 year olds by that point, his mother wouldn't give him the time of day and his father watches over him like a hawk.

13 years old and instead of playing outside with kids your age, you instead are frying away in the net, hacking institutions and breaking codes that a child your age shouldn't even be capable of. Send to the best school, giving the best education. But whenever Kenny did not perform in the way his father wished him to, then it always felt like the world just came crashing down on him.

At a certain point, Kenneth gave up on his mother. The attention he desired from her even as a toddler that he never really received. She was always too busy with her career, it didn't take long for Kenny to realize that his mom never really wished for him. He was always just his father's pet project, his legacy. A legacy pushed so far in fact that when it is 2054, Kenneth is 18 years old and shaking hands with the president.
2055-2068: NUSA CIVIL SERVANTThe government has a new Netrunner on their payroll.

Being stripped of your identity is probably one of the worst things. And being a Netrunner for the NUSA is precisely something that could cause that. Kenny's name would from that point on only be muttered by his father and his closest friends. But within the halls of the NUSA, he'd be called by the codename CERBERUS.

Kenny didn't get to work long with former president Elizabeth Kress, the woman would step down from her presidency only a year after he is appointed to his position. Kenneth would continue working with the then elected president David Whindam under whom his position and role as a Netrunner started to slowly change.

Kenneth's original job was rather run of the mill, assigned to protect the NUSA data fortresses, keep it solid and beyond that update it to make it as impenetrable as it could be. But it would be in the late 50s and especially the 60s when he starts to work alongside President Rosalin Myers that his role as a civil servant starts to shift. By orders of the president, Kenny is tasked to look into Cynosure and Rogue AIs as a whole, specifically how they can be utilized and most of all weaponized.

His work with Rogue AIs that would slowly expend into getting tastes of the Blackwall required Kenny to update his cyberware specifically the jack port attached to his head. Kenny would be given a government prototype. In 2065 he would also eventually meet Songbird and grow close to her, they form a sibling bond in a way though they would never really get the chance to work with one another as the Unification War starts in 2069.
2069-2070: THE UNIFICATION
WARIt is 2069 when Myers introduces Kenneth Roger to Colonel Kurt Hansen. The gears have shifted and per direct orders Kenneth is assigned to BARGHEST to aid them as a netrunner during the siege of Night City. Kenneth having no real prior military service, gets treated as if he had been a soldier his entire life. He finds an unexpected unity amongst the soldiers of BARGHEST that he never really had before. And the Colonel really intrigued him, unbeknownst to him that intrigue was vice versa.

There aren't many people who can keep up with Kenneth, he thinks quickly and his high IQ always makes him a cut above the rest. But the Colonel manages to continiously challenge him and that's exciting. During the early 60s, Kenneth started to feel stuck and suffocated within the NUSA ranks. The pressure that was put upon him specifically by Myers was starting to eat at him.

This made Kenneth realize that there had not been a moment in his life where he chose for himself. Kurt Hansen, just so happened to be the first person in his life who let him make a choice. As BARGHEST was send to Night City, Kenneth who had grown rather close to the Colonel confided in him.
"I'm gonna be honest with you Colonel, I want out. I will help you and the NUSA with NC. And after that, I will go where nobody will find me."
And Hansen let him, there was no disapproval and no retaliation.

When told to pull out of NC at the end of the Unification War, Hansen refused to comply. As he and BARGHEST settled down in Pacificia, the part that would later be known as DOGTOWN. And just as promised on an evening night at the top of the stadium, Hansen let Kenneth go of his duties. But, Kenny had a change of heart in a way. "This place can become something big, Colonel. But right now all you have is a bunch of gonk soldiers. You're gonna need a guy who can built a defense system, maybe a data fortress or two. You are gonna need a guy who can be your eyes in the sky. And perhaps even a guy who can challenge you when you are being a hardhead. Perhaps I'll stay."
2071-now: NUSA'S MOST WANTEDSide-lining the president of the NUSA, going against her orders, betraying her loyalty and above all stealing all the government data you worked on does not grant you any friends. Kenneth forcefully broke his ties with the NUSA and it seemed that life went on.

Dogtown grew in size and Kenny prospered in it. It could be this newly acquired freedom he gained, or maybe more so that taste of power that being Hansen's right hand man gave him. Instead of the world's weight resting on his shoulders it felt like it was finally at his feet. No father to influence him, no neglectful mother's inabsence. Just him and a man he fell really, really in love with.

Kurt and Kenny's relationship feels weirdly both ambigious and romantic at the same time. It's those little things, the whispering in one anothers ears, sharing a bed. Spending time with one another till late in the evening and then starting the day with a cup a coffee together. They are dependent on one another, almost like one can't live without the other. Yet they are still very much their own men. They have their own tasks, their own duties. though everything turns on its head in 2073 when a B.O.L.O on Kenny comes out right at the moment Kenny had to step outside dogtown for a job.

Radio silence for weeks, all signs of Kenneth Roger had gone dark. That was at least until a mugshot released, the NUSA's former dangerous Netrunner had been caught and was back in the belly of the beast. Kenny had always been an investment, an expensive one. An investment that you couldn't really throw away. Even Myers knew that there was no point in locking Kenny up and throwing the key away. Doesn't mean he wasn't locked up though. Kenny spend most of his 2 years 'imprisoned' in the NET, attached to a chair and plugged in forced to scour through data on good days, penetrating the Blackwall on really bad ones.

Kenny wasn't just silently complying and accepting his fate though. Slowly but surely he was utilizing parts of the Blackwall and infecting the NUSA's systems with it. And not on his own, little bits of help from and anonymous bird resulted in a gigantic explosion within the physical data centre that Kenny was locked up in. Resulting in the deaths of hundreds NUSA employees and Kenny's freedom. It would take a while for Kenny to get back to DOGTOWN. Especially now that he is marked as not only a traitorous thief but also a terrorist, earning his nr 1 spot on the NUSA's most wanted means that getting back home is met with hurdles.
But back to Dogtown he got.
